Eternal Ethnobotanicals Limited Ltd (EE) started its Research and development (R&D) activities as a result of it’s founding director recognising three very common but under-resourced conditions, prevalent in over 55% of the population of the western world.
Chronic pain has been recognized as pain that persists past normal healing time and hence lacks the acute warning function of physiological nociception. Usually pain is regarded as chronic when it lasts or recurs for more than 3 to 6 months.
Anxiety is an emotion characterized by feelings of tension, worried thoughts and physical changes like increased blood pressure. People with anxiety disorders usually have recurring intrusive thoughts or concerns. They may avoid certain situations out of worry.
Depression is a constant feeling of sadness and loss of interest, which stops you doing your normal activities. Different types of depression exist, with symptoms ranging from relatively minor to severe. Generally, depression does not result from a single event, but from a mix of events and factors.
The principal of Eternal Ethnobotanicals Ltd (EE), a Canadian national residing in Japan, met a well-known Australian philanthropist in Hong Kong. It was this meeting that spawned the possibility that EE could become the special purpose vehicle to raise capital for research and development of the above-mentioned conditions. Both parties agreed to commence capital raising in Australia as part of their mission to develop natural pharmaceutical remedies to treat these three most common afflictions.
Initially the capital raised was to establish a complete R&D facility in Hong Kong however the capital expenditure required to progress from R&D through to Clinical trials and then production and marketing was prohibitive. During this start-up phase the principal of EE met the owner of one of the largest natural medicine companies in Europe who was in the process of establishing a sophisticated high-tech GMP certified Laboratory and production plant in northern Europe. Their collaboration resulted in a Joint Venture Partnership (JVP) dedicated to providing relief for people suffering from the most common afflictions which, research shows, are usually the most under-sourced.
EE then identified a technology services specialist who could scope, develop and implement the highly specialised platform to run pre-clinical and clinical trials. The potential for this type of platform was in such demand that the developers decided to build and retain ownership of the functional platform themselves and simply license its use. This collaboration has resulted in EE providing the developer with the necessary Intellectual Property (IP) required to scope and build the platform; resulting in return a favorable head license agreement being negotiated. EE has also acquired several niche market applications, together with securing a license for a global business administration and management platform, to run its future day-to-day operations and ongoing distribution.
